Trauma-Responsive Yoga
My Trauma-Responsive Yoga sessions are grounded in safety, choice, and connection. This approach gently supports individuals who have experienced trauma by offering slow, mindful movement, breathwork, and present-moment awareness without force or pressure. I create a compassionate and non-judgmental space where participants are invited to reconnect with their bodies, release tension, and cultivate a sense of agency. Every class is designed to honor personal boundaries and build resilience through embodied healing.
02
IntuitiveVinyasa Flow
In a Vinyasa class we practice connecting each posture to our breath and one posture to another in a seamless flow. This particular style of yoga has more cardiovascular demands on the body and requires greater breathing control, as each asana (posture) is either linked to your inhale or your exhale.
The pace is fast and works up a good sweat. It is a great go-to practice to increase stamina, endurance as well as burn body fat. It will increase blood flow and help improve cardiovascular issues in the body. It is also a great practice for those suffering from anxiety.
In each class, curated musical soundtracks create a fun, rhythmic and dynamic safe space. One is able to keep pushing past their comfort zone when accompanied with the energetic boost of the healing powers of music.
Join Nyamwathi, a deeply intuitive healer & teacher, who always reads the energy of the room and adjusts the sequences according to the energy levels and needs of her students.

Alignment-based Hatha
Hatha yoga allows us to delve deeply into the structural alignment, purpose and benefit of each asana (posture) chosen.
We shall explore a wide variety of postures sequenced to work on one’s muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons as well as the internal organs.
Poses are held anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes, allowing us to really get into a detailed understanding and mastery of the pose.
Each class highlights the details of proper alignment with emphasis on the correct internal ‘feel’ of each asana, increasing body-mind control, awareness, breath, focus and muscle tone.
04
Yin Yoga
Yin yoga is a hybrid of a Pure Hatha practice with Traditional Chinese Medicine. The postures are designed to work with the body’s meridians and move the flow of chi (energy) releasing and clearing any energy blocks.
Each seated or reclined posture is held for 2 - 7 minutes allowing for deep impact targeting the body’s connective tissue known as the fascia.
Throughout the session we are tapping into the para-sympathetic nervous system, which is the access point for cell regeneration, healing and stress-release.
We are also creating space to notice one’s inner self-talk, retraining negative thought patterns with more uplifting positive ones, releasing the urge to control and allowing surrender and trust.

Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is an incredible way of helping the body and mind repair and heal. We activate the para-sympathetic system / relaxation response balancing the entire nervous system and set up the body for deep healing, growth and repair.
This practice is a combination of Hatha, Iyengar and Yin yoga styles, designed to target and alleviate specific health concerns from the mind and body.
These range from body injuries, chronic pain to lifestyle dis-eases such as high blood pressure, diabetes to mental dis-eases such as anxiety etc. A very gentle practice, with long passive holds, aided by props to allowing one to be in restorative asana for up to 10 minutes per posture.
06
OFFICE YOGA Classes
A Vinyasa-Hatha-Yin fusion specifically designed to dramatically decrease stress, create inner & outer strength, increase mental clarity, focus and efficiency, as well as alleviate the chronic aches, pains and disease symptoms that occur from a sedentary lifestyle (prolonged sitting).
We focus on realigning posture, strengthening the lower back and core, while lengthening and stretching the hamstrings, calves and shoulders.
We also pay special attention to lubricating the wrists, ankles and other major body joints. These classes incorporate breathwork and meditation to decrease cortisol and increase serotonin production.

I found Nyamwathi by chance when my previous yoga instructor left Kenya. It was absolutely wonderful crossing paths with her as she is an excellent instructor and teacher. She works to customise her sessions for each of her clients and helps strengthening and enlivening the body to become healthier.
I have recommended Nyamwathi to many of my clients and have only heard amazing feedback. Not only does she practice and teach Hatha yoga which is truly a pure form, she is also experienced in ashtanga, vinyasa and yin yoga practices.

If you're looking for a great yoga instructor, look no further...she's right here!

I always feel like I get more than what I paid for! Yoga with Nyamwathi has been transformational to my practice and to my own actualizing the benefits of yoga to my daily life (finally!). Nyamwathi is a wonderful teacher and I love how she incorporates subtle and yet powerful meditative practices to her classes that simply elevate the classes to a whole other level. I hadn't really had one on one yoga classes before Nyamwathi and I couldn't recommend her classes more! I truly feel like I am receiving more than I bargained for! Her playlists are also a lovely bonus and I am constantly looking forward to my classes with her!

Nyamwathi is an amazing yoga teacher. Her lessons are always thoughtfully put together and designed to make you feel better (every time!), whether you’re tired or anxious or restless or in need of a more physical workout. And her in-depth knowledge of different types of yoga and how the body and mind work together means she can adapt her lessons to give you just what you need. I’ve seen and felt my own improvement with every session. Thank you, Nyamwathi!

With my long days at work, this is a welcomed practice that everyone should take time to do for their own well-being. You can only love others if you love yourself.

Nyamwathi teaches with such care and creativity. Classes are tailored to my overall objectives, but also my needs on the day. We continue to practice virtually when I'm away, even in a different continent with forever changing schedules. I still feel very looked after in these virtual classes. I look forward to my yoga journey continuing with her!

Nyamwathi really understands the mechanics of the body and uses this understanding to design creative sequences that fit the needs of her students. Within two weeks of working with her I felt noticeable relief in my lower back and have continued to make progress since then! She also imparts interesting and insightful bits of information and philosophy both related and unrelated to yoga. Above all else, yoga with Nyams is fun and I look forward to every session!

I’ve had somewhat of a love-hate relationship with yoga since I first began practicing 4 years ago. I had previously been a solo practitioner, learning through YouTube videos and making some quality progress in the process. However and inevitably, I kept arriving at my version of the "yogis block”. My progress was always stifled by the underlying imbalances in my body that I was unable to correctly diagnose and self-prescribe treatment for. After toiling away for so long and nursing the same injuries through my day to day life, this also restricted my ability to pursue long term exercise programs due to a variety of limiting factors.

Nyamwathi is amazingly kindhearted and caring in every way which you will see wonderfully reflected in her yoga classes. I was only able to take classes for about three months but it was just the inspiration I needed to pursue my own training to become a yoga teacher. She made me feel safe and courageous to go deeper in my practice and to trust in my body.
Starting with a session to discuss your own wants and needs, the classes are adjusted to suit you and help you reach your own personal goals. Because of the private one-on-one sessions you really get the extra attention to proper and safe alignment that I don’t feel you get in a bigger class setting.
I learned so much about the benefits of different poses and, which was absolutely freeing for me, realized that every body is unique and moves in different ways. This means that stretches don’t look the same for everyone and that, in fact, some people are not able to move in certain ways. This really gave me more confidence in my own strengths and abilities as opposed to what yoga is “supposed” to look like. I can’t thank you enough, Nyam, you’re an absolute inspiration.
